Jennifer Loomis
Founder
Jennifer Loomis (MA, Certified Photo Manager, Mylio Photos Certified Consultant) started her career as a photojournalist, covering stories across the globe, after completing her Masters in 1997. She later went on to become the pioneer of maternity photography, specializing in classic black and white photography and photographing more than 5000 women and their families including celebrities, major athletes and high-profile individuals.
Her work was featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, LA Times, Seattle Times and on television like CBS Morning News, Entertainment Weekly (You can see a complete list and her current portfolio of photography here). As a photographer for almost 30 years, Jennifer has developed a very specialized system for naming, organizing, curating, archiving, and backing up her body of work which consists of millions of professional and personal images. In 2018, Jennifer started offering her system of photo organizing to long-time clients who came to her looking for a solution to their growing nightmare of personal and professional images spread out over multiple devices and locations. Then people heard about the service and started bringing her boxes and boxes of albums. Jennifer realized this was a big stressor for everyone because there were a lot of images, no one had proper training in the creation of systems to organize, and on top of that, no one was adequately backing up their images or preserving their heirloom images correctly causing decay and loss of priceless family photos. She wanted to help; she knew she could make a HUGE difference; and she was and is a story teller with photos for most of her life. Signature Photo Organizing was started to help preserve their special memories, to tell their stories, and to create a system for them to pass these stories down to their loved ones.
Sarah Maglaras
Senior Digital Manager
Sarah Maglaras (Mylio Photos Certified Consultant) graduated from the University of Washington in 2018 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts and a focus on photography, videography, and experimental media. She started her own photography and creative business in 2018, creating still and moving images and art for artists, musicians, and professionals. In 2019 she started working as a digital photo consultant for Jennifer Loomis.
Since then she has become Jennifer’s studio manager and Senior Editor for Signature Photo Organizing and Jennifer Loomis Photography. Sarah builds websites, helps with photo editing and organizing, and is working with Jennifer to expand the photo organizing and curation services.
Edison
Head of Security
Edison is a 10-year-old flat coat retriever mix who was found wandering downtown Astoria Oregon as a puppy. He had a wild adolescence and has finally settled down. He loves going to the beach with Jennifer when she does her cold plunge. His life time passions are chasing after small furry things that flee and eating food on the floor. He protects the office and the gazzilions of dollars of equipment we have to help our clients digitize and organize.
Oni
Business Advisor
Oni is a 3-year-old cat who acts as one of SPO’s lead business advisors. Oni’s passions are eating treats and sleeping during the day on Sarah’s lap. He only wakes up when he is asked to weigh in on an important business decision. In his free time he enjoys basking in the sun, modeling for Sarah’s photography, and watching the birds.
